It's the energy of small towns for me.
When I walk, or twirl through one, I can just feel it.
All the lives living now.
All the ones before me.
Good days and bad days.
Love and battle.
Not knowing the history of that building
Or that brick
Or tree.
Sometimes needing to know,
Sometimes just needing to feel it.
In my head or maybe my heart everything moves differently in a small town.
The little shops.
The lemonade.
The wind.
The stories.
So many stories.
It's like I can feel every single story, emotion, and place all at once.
It should overwhelm me.
It probably should make me cry.
Yet, it just feels me with this sense of joy, love, wonder and gratitude.
It's like a Polaroid of a moment in time that feels detached from the rest of the world.
And I'm so happy I get to be in it.
Really enjoyed this, not least because I live in a small town in Maryland and visit Annapolis on the regular.
So true✨
I love the vibe of small towns that do everything to preserve their history, significance and culture.
